Need A Little Pick-Me-Up?

This is truly a "Oh My Stars!!" moment.  

Hotel Chocolat has dark chocolate Vintage Buttons. Yes....that is what I said!! They look so beautiful, but I doubt I could create anything with them because I wouldn't be able to control myself from eating them all up!! Check out their website.  They have created chocolates for every occasion, champagne truffles, liquid chocolat, and of course beautiful Easter tidbits of luxury to add to your Bunny basket.  They are located back East, but let's imagine walking into their heavenly shop. As you enter can you embrace the European dark chocolate aroma, surrounded by truffles, caramel-filled eggs and of course the dark chocolate vintage buttons?  A handsome European lad approaches you and says "Would  the beautiful, young woman like to stay awhile and sample our chocolates?" (Stay with me here it's only a dream). Even though we can't visit, we can order a treat express mail and in the meantime steal a couple of chocolate chips in the cupboard and dream......of the chocolates!!

"Winter White"

Happy New Year 2010!!  Here we are, January 4th, 2010, the season of Winter White.  Everything is clean, smelling of lavender, white, starched and pressed.  White linen and lace have been put in place of the burgundy and forest greens of Christmas.  Victoria's magazine January/February 2010 issue is full of bliss, vintage lace on top of antique mirrors, white ceramic plates and pitchers,  mother of pearl buttons, and of course white, crisp vintage linen.  I look around at my home and try to find the vision....winter white.  

I close my eyes and try to create the clean, crisp, fresh look.
I open them only to find my Christmas tree is still there with a google of ornaments, and a light white dusting of....frost, no, actual dust on my tables and fire place mantel.  Life is busy.  Holiday is over.  The kids are back in school (in their made-up desks in the living-room along with the tree.)  There is not a lot of time to do a make-over winter white house or even one room of bliss.  But, there is a definate sense of new, an anticipation of what's ahead.  What will I learn?  How will I grow?  What lessons are in store for my children?  How will they grow?  Will I actually work out to remove the dangling upper arms creating toned tanned biceps?  Will I ever paint my bathroom that has pink bow lace stencil?  (For the love of all that is good, please, please let there be paint.)  No resolutions, no long lists of goals, just breathe, a deep, long breath and look around and be thankful.  I am so thankful....  Happy New Year.

Twas' the week before the Holiday Boutique on Street Orange, everyone is so busy finishing their creations of joys. The lanterns and lights are being hung with care in hopes that we will see you at this elegant affair!!

The Holiday Boutique is November 13th, 6-9 pm at 539 S. Orange Avenue, Brea.

Post Glitterfest Fall

I had a great time at Glitterfest Fall 2009. It is so inspiring taking in all the beautiful art work and artists. A huge "Thank You" to the Whimzy girls. They created a beautiful venue setting up the room with class and sparkle. Girls, you are amazing with your endless energy and creativity.
The Vintage Joy Button Fairies were carefully selected by customers and taken to their new homes. Thank you to all who took one home, or maybe two?
